Bon Vivant VA Blog

Virginia: Mother of States, birthplace of presidents (and bourbon, and the mint julep), and capital of the south.
I’m a proud native Virginian. I call Falls Church City home. My people are from West Virginia (which was part of Virginia until 1863, and was part of the Colony of Virginia until 1776). The Virginias, and the Mid-Atlantic in general, are my base of operations, but I travel and will write about topics with an appeal that knows no boundaries. Topics will include books, bourbon, scotch, cocktails, cigars, hunting, fly fishing, history, food, meat, music, sports, style, equipage, and travel (see, “Categories” at the left of this page). The main purpose of this blog is to be a journal, but I plan to write it for an audience. As a business owner, former assistant scoutmaster, and former pledgemaster, I’ve always strived to make men better (#noblesseoblige). Its my sincere hope that my posts will inspire readers to be well-rounded, think, and get outside their comfort zones. I hope my blog will appeal not only to Virginians, but to people living in the DMV area and beyond, outdoorsmen, the citified, explorers, the style conscious, gourmands, good ‘ol boys, and bon viveurs of all types.
(I am not a computer/tech guy, so please bare with me. Its a miracle I’ve gotten a blog going at all.)
